Development Coach: Get Better at Working With AI Agents

Get better at working with AI agents, one short lesson at a time.

The Development Coach is AI agent coaching for developers in the Ai1 platform by MyZone AI: it reviews the sessions you share with AI agents, finds the habits that cost time or spend and teaches one better move per short lesson, without scoring or ranking anyone.

We'll show you the Development Coach on your own team's agent sessions. It reads only the sessions you choose to share.

Plans & pricing

  • Quicker, leaner sessions

Small habit changes, like a clearer brief or an earlier check, cut wasted turns and token spend in every session that follows.

  • A team that improves together

Everyone is coached on their own habits, so the team's agent work becomes more consistent without anyone being singled out.

  • Sharper judgement on the big calls

Leaders get coached on what to automate, what to keep human and what to spend, before they approve rather than after.

  • Progress you can trust

Feedback is written and tied to the session it came from, so improvement is shown rather than guessed.

What the Development Coach does for you

  • Reviews how you ran a session

After a working session with your agents, it looks at how you briefed, steered and checked the work, then writes a short plain-language review. Every point links to the moment it happened.

  • Builds your personal curriculum

From the sessions you share, it works out where you are strong and where a small change would pay off most, then ranks a short list of lessons in that order.

  • Teaches one short lesson at a time

Each lesson covers one skill in about ten minutes, uses a before and after from your own sessions and ends with one thing to try next time.

  • Coaches leaders on their decisions

Engineering leaders get help with judgement calls: which decisions stay human, what to spend, and when to trust an agent's plan or push back, before approving.

  • Feedback, not scores

Every point is written feedback tied to the session it came from. There are no scores, levels or ranking of people.

  • Reads only what you share

It reads only the sessions or time window you point it to, through a read-only reader that hides passwords and keys first.

How the Development Coach differs from general AI training

General AI training teaches what the tools can do. The Development Coach studies how you actually work with agents in your own sessions: how you brief, steer and check. In the sessions you share, it points to the moment each habit showed up and teaches one better move per short lesson. It gives written feedback only, never scores or ranks people, and it keeps no personal profile.

From your request to a finished result

It runs inside your Ai1 system and works in the tools you already use. You ask, it works, it reports, and it stops for your OK where it matters.

How the Development Coach works: you ask through the Comms Hub and Ai1 runs the steps: choose what it reads, baseline, curriculum, lessons and check again. You approve at: choose what it reads. It returns a session review.

You approve

Step 1: You choose what it reads

You share a session or pick a recent time window. It reads only that, and hides passwords and keys first.

Step 2: Baseline

It reviews a window of your recent sessions and writes up where you stand today.

Step 3: Curriculum

It ranks the few changes that would make the biggest difference for you.

Step 4: Lessons

One short lesson at a time, built on your own examples, each with one thing to try next.

Step 5: Check again

Share newer sessions and it shows, with evidence, whether the change you tried is showing up.

  • You just finished a messy session with an agent
It reviews what happened and gives you one specific change to make next time.
  • You want a plan to improve, not random tips
It ranks the changes that matter most in the sessions you share, and you can run it again as you improve.
  • You are about to approve an agent's plan, budget or architecture
It talks the decision through with you before you commit, and the call stays yours.
  • Your engineering team works with coding agents every day
With your team's agreement, it reviews a window of the team's sessions and gives written feedback on team habits, with no scorecards or ranking.

What you get

  • A one-page session review covering what worked, what cost you and the one change to try
  • A short, ranked list of lessons from the sessions you share
  • Ten-minute lessons built on examples from your own sessions
  • Decision coaching for leaders before plans, budgets or architecture are approved
  • Written feedback tied to the session each point came from

What it won't do

  • Make decisions or approve work on your behalfHandled by: You: the coach advises, it never decides
  • Read sessions you have not sharedHandled by: You: you choose what it reads
  • Save a personal profile or score on anyoneHandled by: Nobody: feedback stays in your conversation

Example: team AI-agent practice review

Example with a fictional company. Names, people and figures are invented to show the agent's output. Any resemblance to a real company or person is unintended. Industry facts are real and cited with their sources.

What it was asked: Look at the last week of our team's AI agent sessions and tell us where we lose the most time and what we should practise next, without grading anyone.

Example report
Six number tiles for a week of AI agent sessions, three numbered headline findings, and a box of cited industry facts about AI tool use and cache pricing.
What we looked at, and the three things that matter most
A ranked table of five practice levers, each with its practice area code, the number it moves, today's value, a two-week target and an evidence grade.
Five improvement levers, ranked by impact
A bar chart splitting 3,870 agent actions into building, rework, chores and checking, beside a vague one-line task brief rewritten into a five-part brief.
Where the agents' effort went, and how to fix the biggest leak
Three cards on habits to keep, a week-by-week practice plan, and a note on how the review was done and what it does not do.
What is already working, and a two-week practice plan

What it found: 3 findings, with the numbers

  • 31% of tasks (47 of 152) needed two or more correction rounds. Briefs that stated what done looks like needed 0.6 rounds on average, against 1.5 for briefs that did not.
  • Only 6 of 63 code changes were checked by a second agent or a test run before merge, and 9 of the 11 later fix sessions traced back to unchecked changes.
  • 58% of follow-up messages arrived after a pause longer than the 5-minute default cache lifetime, so the agent re-read the whole conversation at full input price or more, instead of the cached rate.

The coach read one week of the team's shared agent sessions, which each developer had agreed to share, through its read-only reader, which masks passwords and keys first, then counted tasks, correction rounds, checks and pauses (marked EXTRACTED) and sorted actions into types by judgement (marked REVIEWED). It gives written feedback only: no scores, levels or ranking of people, nothing stored to a personal profile, and no code, tests or costs were checked outside the sessions themselves. Run date: .

It asks before it acts

Every Ai1 agent works under human approval. Here is how the Development Coach keeps you in control.

  • It reads only the sessions or time window you share, and passwords and keys are hidden before it reads.
  • Nothing is saved to a personal profile today. Review colleagues' sessions only with their agreement.
  • It advises and never decides. Approvals, spending and architecture calls stay with you.
  • Every observation cites the session it came from. It gives written feedback only: no scores, levels or ranking of people.
  • It never guesses who someone is from names in a transcript.

Frequently asked questions about the Development Coach

What does an agentic coding coach do?

It studies how you brief, steer and check AI coding agents in your own sessions and coaches the habits that cost time or spend. The Development Coach in Ai1 by MyZone AI gives written feedback with the evidence, never scores or ranks people.

That is the difference from general AI training, which teaches what the tools can do. This coach works from how you actually work with agents in your own sessions.

How can engineering leaders get better at approving AI agent work?

Talk the decision through before approving: which calls stay human, what to spend and when to trust an agent's plan or push back. The Development Coach coaches that judgement with you.

It never approves plans or spending for you. Approvals, spend and architecture choices stay yours.

Does the Development Coach look at my sessions or keep a file on me?

It reads only the sessions you share with it or the time window you ask for. If you ask it to review colleagues' sessions, get their agreement first.

It saves no personal profile or score, and feedback stays in the conversation where you asked for it. If it cannot confirm who you are, it still coaches you, and it never works out who you are from names in a transcript.

Can the Development Coach get it wrong?

Yes, which is why every observation points to the session it came from, so you can check the evidence yourself before acting on it.

It gives written feedback only, with no scores or levels, and the decision about what to change in how you work stays with you.
