Uptime Monitor: Know the Moment Your Website Goes Down

Know your site is down before your customers tell you.

The Uptime Monitor is the website uptime monitoring agent in the Ai1 platform by MyZone AI: it checks your websites on your schedule, confirms a real outage before alerting and tells the right people when a site goes down and when it is back.

We'll show you the Uptime Monitor on your own websites.

Plans & pricing

  • Hear about outages first

Your team knows a site is down within minutes, before customers start calling to tell you.

  • Fewer false alarms

A single failed check never sets off an alert. Outages are confirmed first, and a recovery notice tells everyone when the site is back.

  • A clear record to work from

Uptime and response time over time, plus every outage and how long it lasted, ready to go through with your web team or host.

What the Uptime Monitor does for you

  • Watches your sites

Add website addresses up to the monitor's capacity, choose how often each one is checked, and pause or resume any site whenever you like.

  • Confirms before it alerts

One failed check is not enough. Two failures a few seconds apart confirm a real outage, so nobody is woken up by a passing blip.

  • Alerts the right people

Each alert contact is reached by email, Slack or text message, with text working once a text service is connected for your business. Slack alerts go only to a private channel or a person.

  • Reminders and recovery notices

While a confirmed outage lasts, your contacts get an hourly reminder, and a recovery notice closes the loop when the site is back.

  • Uptime report in your chat

Line charts of uptime and response time, with date filters, a site picker and a list of every outage, shown right in your chat.

  • Explains what happened

After an outage it tells you when it started, how long it lasted and which alerts went out, using only what the checks recorded.

How the Uptime Monitor differs from a basic ping check

A basic ping check can alert on a single failed request and say nothing once the site is back. The Uptime Monitor needs two failed checks a few seconds apart before it alerts, reminds your contacts every hour while the outage lasts and sends a recovery notice when the site returns. If its own checker stops, it says plainly that monitoring is not running and never claims your sites are fine.

How this differs from the Page Speed Monitor: the Page Speed Monitor tests how fast your pages load and what to fix first, while the Uptime Monitor checks whether your site is up or down.

From your request to a finished result

It runs inside your Ai1 system and works in the tools you already use. You ask, it works, it reports, and it stops for your OK where it matters.

How the Uptime Monitor works: you ask through the Comms Hub and Ai1 runs the steps: tell it your sites, test the alerts, watch around the clock, alert and recover and report. You approve at: test the alerts. It returns a uptime report.

Step 1: Tell it your sites

Give it your website addresses, how often to check each one, and who should be alerted and how.

You approve

Step 2: Test the alerts

It offers a test alert for each route and sends it only after you say yes. A route counts as ready once its test arrives.

Step 3: Watch around the clock

A background checker visits each site on the schedule you chose, anywhere from every minute to once a week.

Step 4: Alert and recover

A confirmed outage alerts your contacts, with an hourly reminder while it lasts and a recovery notice when the site is back.

Step 5: Report

Ask for the uptime report or a review of any outage whenever you need it.

Hand these situations to the Uptime Monitor

Illustrative photo. Ask for the shop site and booking site to be watched, with a text to the store manager if either goes down.
  • You launch a new site or a page that matters
It adds it to the watch list and checks it as often as you choose.
  • Someone new should hear about outages
It adds them as an alert contact and offers a test alert, so you know the route works before you rely on it.
  • You think the site was down last night
It shows exactly what the checks recorded, how long the outage lasted and which alerts went out.
  • You are reviewing your hosting
Its response time monitoring gives you uptime and response time for any date range, ready to discuss with your host.

What you get

  • Confirmed website down alerts by email, Slack or text message
  • An hourly reminder while a site stays down, then a recovery notice
  • An uptime report with uptime and response time charts, date filters and a site picker
  • A list of every outage with how long it lasted
  • A plain outage report: when it started, how long it lasted and which alerts went out

What it won't do

Example: weekly uptime and outage review

Example with a fictional company. Names, people and figures are invented to show the agent's output. Any resemblance to a real company or person is unintended.

What it was asked: Watch our shop site and our repair booking site, text our store manager if either goes down, then show us last week's uptime and tell us whether anyone was told about last night's outage.

Example report
Two sites on a one-minute watch list and two alert contacts, a text and an email route, each marked ready after a test the owner approved.
Setup and tested alert routes
A weekly uptime report with date filters, uptime and response-time line charts for two sites, and summary tiles showing 100% and 99.88% uptime.
7-day uptime report
A minute-by-minute timeline of a 12-minute booking-site outage beside the outage and recovery messages sent to two contacts.
Overnight outage review
An incident table and an empty failed-deliveries table, with plain notes on what the outage means and who acts next.
Outage record and next steps

What it found: 3 findings, with the numbers

  • The shop site was up 100% of the last 7 days and the repair booking site 99.88%, with one confirmed 12-minute outage overnight on 1 October.
  • The outage was confirmed by two failed checks 3 seconds apart; the store manager's text and the owner's email both arrived within a minute, followed by recovery notices at 01:59.
  • The booking site slowed from 0.82 s to 2.94 s in the 40 minutes before it went down, and on a normal day it answers about twice as slowly as the shop site.

The sample follows the Uptime Monitor's current flow on invented data: two sites checked every minute, an outage confirmed only after two failures a few seconds apart, alerts by text and email with a recovery notice, and the 7-day uptime report with its incident and delivery tables. Test alerts were sent only after the owner said yes, and text alerts assume a text message service is connected for the business. It did not check any real site, diagnose why the booking site failed, or change anything; a person on the team or the host makes any fix. Run date: .

It asks before it acts

Every Ai1 agent works under human approval. Here is how the Uptime Monitor keeps you in control.

  • Real outage alerts go out automatically. Test alerts are sent only after you say yes.
  • Slack alerts go only to a private channel or a person, never to a public channel.
  • If the checker stops, it says plainly that monitoring is not running and never claims your sites are fine.
  • It watches and alerts; fixes to your site, hosting or domain go to the Webmaster.

Frequently asked questions about the Uptime Monitor

How do website down alerts avoid false alarms?

By confirming an outage before anyone is told. The Uptime Monitor in Ai1 by MyZone AI needs two failed checks a few seconds apart before it alerts, so a passing blip wakes nobody. While a confirmed outage lasts, contacts get an hourly reminder, then a recovery notice when the site is back.

Real outage alerts go out automatically by email and Slack, or by text message once a text service is connected. Test alerts are only sent after you say yes.

What should an outage report tell you after a site goes down?

When the outage started, how long it lasted and which alerts went out, using only what the checks recorded. The Uptime Monitor gives you this plain account, along with a list of every outage and how long each one lasted.

If the checker itself stops running, it tells you plainly and never claims your sites are fine. A monitor running on your Ai1 server cannot report a full outage of that same server.

Why track response time as well as uptime?

A site can be reachable while it answers slowly, or while a checkout is broken. The Uptime Monitor charts uptime and response time over any date range, with a site picker and date filters, so you have a clear record to go through with your web team or host.

Page speed has its own monitor, and the Website Monitoring Manager explains which monitor answers which question.

How often does the Uptime Monitor check, and is it available?

Once a minute is the fastest it checks. For each site you can choose anything from every minute to once a week.

It is ready to use and runs through your Ai1 server, checks your websites around the clock and confirms a real outage before alerting.
